Sarah Fardon: PR and Content Consultant
I'm an experienced and articulate communications leader with 12 years of experience in PR, corporate communications and content strategy.
I began my career as a marketing graduate at IBM, learning the ropes across big tech and big business when 'big data' was first on the rise. I worked on topic areas like Research & Innovation, Cloud, Commerce and Watson (Analytics). I took The Gadget Show to IBM's research lab in Hursley, hosted BBC Click (and London News) in a Holloway petrol station to showcase an instant checkout, and took journalists on behind the scenes tours during The Wimbledon Championships.
I've since spread my wings and broadened my experience in different industries, including PR Management at JLL (think big industrial sheds, launching reports, and even writing articles on car parks), Executive Comms at Capco (writing social media and advising on engagement strategy for a big FS consultancy) and Corporate Comms at Cutover (a Series B scale-up who hired me in as a Comms Lead before I was promoted and built our full content and communications function across the UK and US).
Since then, it's been freelance and agency focused: I led PR strategy for The Blue Earth Summit, a 4,000 person, 3 day planet-focused event in Bristol (including securing BBC Politics coverage), built Boulder Group's PR division (focused on start-ups and venture backed business) and advised Seat Unique and CustomerOS on their content, comms and awards approach.
The last year has been more AI-infused, working at the helm of a fast-paced software-driven PR agency, MVPR. There I worked closely with the founding team, using experience and data-backed intelligence to match high growth clients with journalists and media opportunities. That saw broadcast coverage on Sky News Business Live, thought leadership bylines placed in TechRadarPro, The Engineer and many other industry publications, interviews secured with Politico and The Guardian, and the opportunity to work with some awesome clients across legaltech, climatetech, healthtech, sport, consumer, fintech and others.
Now, I offer my services to media consultancies, PR agencies and individual businesses (such as Transatlantic Entertainment, Publicis Pro and the GenAI Academy) on a freelance basis: whether that's their first foray into PR, leading a funding announcement, writing and placing thought leadership, putting fires out and managing issues, or casting an expert editorial eye.
A writer at heart, I now have a
proven track record across a range of sectors from B2B tech to VCs and start-ups, professional services, sustainability and the outdoors, and can put my skills, craft and experience to bring an idea to reality.
Out of 'office' (although guilty of discussing in-office too), I'm an avid health and fitness enthusiast with a love of our planet, the outdoors and new adventures with my little dog in tow.
